"The Little Mermaid" trailer was reportedly supposed to release during the Super Bowl, however, the highly anticipated musical's trailer was not dropped. Many fans shared their reactions on social media.

One of the fans noted that many trailers are dropped except "The Little Mermaid."

Trailers and teasers like "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts," "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny," "Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves," "Fast X," "Scream VI," "Creed III," "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" and "The Flash" were dropped during the Super Bowl.

Another fan accused the event of cutting "The Little Mermaid" and "The Marvels" trailers for showing "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" and "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny" clips during the Super Bowl.

One Twitter user noted that it is Black History Month and yet, "they really chose not to release the little mermaid trailer." Halle Bailey will be seen playing the title role in the movie and she will be the first person of color to play the Disney princess.

The live-action movie is an adaptation of the 1989 animated flick of the same name. Disney first announced Bailey's casting in 2019 and the announcement received backlash online because many were not happy with a Black mermaid.

In fact, these online users made the #NotMyAriel trend on Twitter.

One of the Twitter users shared a photo referring to the futuristic world and captioned it, "Society if Disney dropped the little mermaid trailer at the super bowl."

Super Bowl was held at the State Farm Stadium in Arizona on Sunday. Fans began to expect the trailer for the "The Little Mermaid" to be dropped during the event after many outlets reported the same.

Aside from Bailey, the flick also stars actress Melissa McCarthy, who will portray Ursula's character in the musical.

McCarthy was shown singing during a Super Bowl commercial. A fan shared their disappointment looking at the commercial, "We get Melissa McCarthy singing in a commercial and it's not for THE LITTLE MERMAID."

"The Little Mermaid" is slated to release in theaters on May 26. The movie is helmed by director Rob Marshall.
