‘Vampire Diaries’ Season 5 Spoilers: Watch 2 New Sneak Peek Videos From Episode 16, ‘While You Were Sleeping’

“The Vampire Diaries” may have taken a week off after Elena finally regained control of her body, but The CW series is set to return on March 20. Fortunately, fans don’t have to wait that long to get their Mystic Falls fix, because the network has released not one, but two juicy new sneak-peek videos from episode 16, “While You Were Sleeping.” Queue the drama!

In the first sneak-peek video, fans can see Bonnie interacting with newbie witch Liv. But just as we’ve seen in previous episodes, their relationship is definitely strained. The good news is that this time, Jeremy isn’t around to stir up Bonnie’s jealousy side.

“I mean, you got to admit. It was pretty rad,” Liv brags to Bonnie while working at the campus café. “I locked a vampire in her dorm with an invisible seal. I mean, how many newbie witches have that on their resume.”

But Bonnie seems more annoyed than impressed by Liv’s witch charm. “If they do they don’t brag about it as loudly,” she tells her frienemy.

“Come on,” Liv says, not letting Bonnie bring her down. “This place is dead. It’s like serious spring break-itus. Besides, you’re not even a little proud of me?”

“Okay, hotshot,” Bonnie says with a smile. Spilling out some salt on the bar, Bonnie asks Liv to perform a simple fire spell. And just as Bonnie suspected, Liv can’t perform easy beginner spells.

“That’s weird,” she counters when Liv fails. “Guess your resume still needs some padding.”

While the first clip is set at Whitmore College, the second video clip is of a scene in Mystic Falls … and it might make Delena shippers a little nervous.

After Damon’s unfortunate encounter with Dr. Wes and his vampire serum, the hungry vampire is forced to remain chained up in the Salvatore mansion cellar. Damon’s lucky enough to have a support system who is willing to deliver small quantities of vampire blood, but that support system also holds grudges.

“Hey, you’re lucky I’m even helping you,” Jeremy yells at Damon after the irritated vampire throws an empty cup at him. “Considering the last thing you did for me was to tell Enzo to strangle me to death.”

“Quit crying,” Damon says, rolling his eyes. “You’re still around.”

“More than we can say for Aaron Whitmore,” Matt chimes in. “Weren’t he and Elena tight? Does she know Damon killed him?”

“I don’t know,” Jeremy challenges Damon. “Does she?”

“No, she doesn’t because I’m going to be the one to tell her” Damon says threateningly. “And if either one of you clowns beats me to it, I’ll rip your tongue out.”

As we previously reported, episode 16 will find Stefan updating Elena on what happened during the time that Katherine had control of her body. It’ll be up to Elena’s ex-boyfriend to give her all the dirty little details … like the fact that Katherine stabbed her with Dr. Wes' werewolf venom-laced virus, and that Damon was injected with the vampire feeding serum. Elena’s first instinct will be to call Damon, but will she still have the same feelings for him when Damon makes a “disturbing confession”?

While Damon and Elena battle their inner demons, Caroline will be playing detective in “While You Were Sleeping.” On spring break from Whitmore, Caroline will be trying to figure out a solution to their Dr. Wes fueled problems. But instead she’ll end up discovering a “frightening secret” that may lead to more problems for her friends. Perhaps it has something to do with the “new information on the importance of doppelgangers” that the Travelers reveal to her, Enzo and Stefan.
