‘Vampire Diaries’ Stars Ian Somerhalder And Nina Dobrev Reportedly Back Together A Year After Split

It has been a year since Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder broke up and we are still mourning their relationship. However, there might be some light at the end of the tunnel for Nian shippers. According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, the “Vampire Diaries” stars are getting back together.

Sources reportedly told the site that the two CW actors are dating again but want to keep their romance private and out of the media. The reasoning behind their secret relationship is said to be due to the scrutiny and attention following their previous breakup. Since the pair is now on better terms, an insider claims that they are “hesitant” to go public, “especially since they so recently repaired all the damage done by their first breakup.”

Nian shippers will remember that the couple broke up in May 2013 after dating for three years. Their split came at an ironic time for their TV show. After multiple seasons of going back and fourth between the two Salvatore brothers, Elena ultimately ended up confessing her love to Damon at the end of Season 4. Season 5 had a passionate kick off for the characters, with Damon and Elena exploring their fiery romance.

Since their split, Nina Dobrev has been linked to a handful of celebrities, like: Derek Hough, Liam Hemsworth, Chris Evans and even another “Vampire Diaries” co-star, Michael Trevino. At the beginning of April rumors began to swirl after she posted a photo of the actor who plays hybrid wolf Tyler. However fans quickly shot down the speculation, especially since Trevino has been dating “Glee” star Jenna Ushkowitz since 2011.

Meanwhile, Ian Somerhalder was recently linked to “American Idol” alum Molly Swenson. The pair was allegedly spotted holding hands at an event in April, but Swenson shot down the romance rumors on Twitter. Swenson tweeted that she had been “off the market” for two years, and further investigation unveiled that the two are actually long time friends and co-workers. Molly Swenson is the chief operating officer at RYOT News, an organization where Ian Somerhalder is on the advisory board.

So, are Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder truly “back on” in real life? Right now the pair are separated with Nina Dobrev filming "The Final Girls" and Ian Somerhalder touring the world (currently in Brazil). But fans will have to keep an eye out.
