What Is Meghan Markle's Diet And Workout Regimen To Stay In Shape?
Meghan Markle maintains a strict diet and an active lifestyle in order to keep her killer curves.
With rumors claiming that Meghan could be tying the knot with boyfriend Prince Harry soon, Hello! magazine speculated that she may stick to her "filming" diet. This involves drinking hot water with lemon when she gets up in the morning, followed by porridge with banana and agave syrup for breakfast. For lunch, she enjoys salad snacks with almonds and apples. Then she typically has soup or pasta with her special sauce that was made from slow-cooked courgettes and stock for dinner.
Markle does not starve herself, but she makes sure to only consume healthy and low-calorie meals. "I just try to avoid the things that I know are going to make me feel lethargic or sluggish. I eat mostly just fish and veggies – but I am also a foodie," Prince Harry's girlfriend said of her diet.
Markle added that she's very conscious about what she consumes when filming, only eating vegan fare during the week. However, her choice of food is more flexible during the weekends.
The "Horrible Bosses" star has impressive cooking skills. She knows how to cook, so she can be on the top of her diet. Markle's signature dish is the traditional roasted chicken. "There is nothing as delicious (or as impressive) as a perfectly roasted chicken," Markle told Good Housekeeping. "It's a game changer. I bring that to dinner parties and make a lot of friends."
Aside from maintaining a strict nutritional diet, the actress makes sure to keep an active lifestyle. "Yoga is my thing," Markle said.
This does not come as a surprise, given that her mom, Doria Radlan, is a yoga instructor. The mother and daughter share the same passion for the art. "There are so many benefits that come with the practice of yoga... increased flexibility and muscle strength, greater happiness, increased mental focus, a greater ability to relax, decreased anxiety and better sleep," Markle explained.
In related news, Prince Harry and Markle are expected to announce their engagement by the end of the month, after Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip's platinum wedding anniversary. The couple may tie the knot in a low-key wedding ceremony in 2018.
