Fans have been eagerly waiting for the announcement of the “Power” Season 6 premiere date, unfortunately, the filming of the Starz series has been halted following the tragic death of a production crew member.

The show which follows the life of drug kingpin, James “Ghost” St. Patrick typically premieres in the summer, but following an unexpected accident on set, it is unclear when the series will be released on television.

Deadline reported the cast and crew of the New York City-based drama dealt with a terrible loss on Monday after a production assistant was hit by an SUV around 4:30 a.m. EST.

Pedro Jimenez, who has worked on the show since its 2014 premiere, was fatally struck by a 2006 Ford Explorer in Brooklyn, where filming was supposed to take place.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of the members of our Power family,” a rep for Starz said off of the 63-year-old crew member.

“Our thoughts are with Mr. Jimenez’ family as we work to fully understand what has happened,” the spokesperson added.

As a result, the production of “Power” has been temporarily shut down out of respect for the family of the deceased. Cast members were not on set at the time of the accident.

There has been no announcement regarding when filming of “Power” Season 6 will resume.
