Blake Shelton already has some ideas for his upcoming wedding to fiancée Gwen Stefani, and one of them involves his close pal Adam Levine.
Shelton made a virtual appearance on Thursday's "Late Night with Seth Meyers," where he joked about inviting Levine and his band to perform during his nuptials.
"I've kind of decided that I've been doing this a long time now and I've got a lot of favors out there," the 44-year-old singer told host Seth Meyers. "He may not like it, but Adam Levine's gonna have to get the band together and come and play our wedding."
"I've already seen a music video where they crash people's weddings and he owes me a lot for just putting up with him over the years," he added, referencing Maroon 5's "Sugar" music video. "So I think we can get Adam to come be our wedding band."
Shelton also took the opportunity to poke fun at his former "Voice" co-star, joking that Maroon 5's music is "so boring that it won't distract from the festivities and the reception and all that stuff."
The late-night host then mentioned his "small gripe" with Stefani, who appeared on his show a day before they announced their engagement in October.
"She kept doing this with her hand and wondering if people would figure out that she was wearing an engagement ring," Shelton joked as he imitated Stefani's hand gestures. "I told her, 'You know, you wear more jewelry than Mr. T, so I don't think people picked up on that.' And they didn't. You could have figured it out though — she was giving you hints!"
Meanwhile, reports suggested that their wedding might happen before the year ends as Shelton is eager to marry Stefani.
"Blake is just ready to be married and wants it to happen very soon," a source told Us Weekly after the couple announced they were getting married after five years of dating. "Don’t be surprised if it happens by the end of the year."
In November, Stefani shared a closeup look at her engagement ring in a clip she shared during the 2020 People's Choice Awards. The No Doubt singer had not been in the venue but was instead waiting for Shelton in the car while he accepted his top country artist award.
In the Instagram Live video, Stefani puts her hand to her face, revealing the massive engagement bling she received from Shelton.
Ajay Anand, founder and CEO of the diamond search engine Rare Carat, estimated its price to be at least half a million.
"We're looking at a gorgeous eight-carat, radiant-shape diamond with trapezoid sides — an Art Deco look," he explained to Insider in his email. "We're talking $500,000 in all, as the center stone is an icy white D-to-F color diamond.”
