Why Katie Holmes, Jamie Foxx Stopped Hiding Relationship After Years Of Dating

After five years of dating, Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx are reportedly done hiding their relationship. The couple, who previously went above and beyond to keep their romance under wraps, are said to be ready to openly show their affection for one another.

Following her divorce from husband Tom Cruise in 2012, Holmes turned her attention to raising their daughter Suri Cruise. However, romance rumors between the actress and Foxx soon began to surface and have only intensified following recent outings.

Sources told Us Weekly, the couple has finally reached a place in which they are comfortable going out in public together. On July 21, Holmes and Foxx were spotted on a date at a beach in Malibu, California.

“Katie and Jamie care about each other a lot and they tried to stay as quiet as possible because they didn’t want to ruin that,” a source explained.

“They knew the second they stepped out together, it would open the gates for criticism.”

However, during their beach outing, the couple made no attempts to hide the fact they were there together. “They were totally engaged with each other,” an onlooker shared.

The witness revealed the two shared several kisses, played volleyball and sipped on champagne as they “watched the sunset.”

“They were never on their phones. She had this incredible smile on her face. She looked smitten,” the beachgoer added.

News of Foxx and Holmes’ PDA filled date comes more than a month after the actress’ rep denied a report claiming the stars split and canceled their Paris wedding. In June, Radar Online published an article alleging the “Dawson’s Creek” alum ended the relationship after struggling to get past her trust issues.

While the relationship remains intact, those close to Holmes want her to proceed with caution while dating Foxx. “No one can understand why Katie loves a man who can’t seem to commit,” the insider said.

Although going out in public wasn’t easy for Holmes and Foxx, after spending five years together the two managed to reach an understanding. “They got to know each other and see where they were headed,” a source said.

Holmes and Foxx reportedly don’t see themselves as “a couple in the traditional sense,” but they have figured out an arrangement that appears to have been successful throughout the course of their relationship.
