Why Prince William, Kate Middleton May Be Distancing Themselves From Prince Harry, Meghan

Royal fans have discussed why Prince William and Kate Middleton appear to be distancing themselves from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

One online user took to Qoura and asked why the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are distancing themselves from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The questions received various answers from netizens.

According to Anchita Rai, who formerly worked in public health, Prince William and Prince Harry have different futures. Prince William will be king one day, while Prince Harry will fade into the background.

“I think there is always a distance between heir and the spare. There is distance between Charles and his siblings. We are getting affected by the distance between William and Harry maybe because we have always seen William and Harry together, laughing and joking etc. We want them to remain the same,” she wrote.

Meanwhile, royal fan Sheena Brown believes that the distance between the two couples is normal because Prince Harry is already married. Prior to meeting Markle, Prince Harry used to join his brother and sister-in-law in different engagements, but she stressed that it’s normal for families to drift apart.

The royal family is just like any ordinary family. Prince Charles wasn’t close to his sister Princess Anne when they were very young. Prince Andrew and Prince Edward had a far closer relationship because they arrived later when the Queen was better organized. Prince William and Prince Harry had a very close upbringing, but they have different characters.

“It’s absolutely normal the way they are reorganising their lives to suit their families! I’d be far more concerned if they lived as though they were joined at the hip!!!” Brown wrote.

“[Brothers], even those who are very close tend to separate when they get married as their focus changes to center on their wife and children. They also tend to become closer once both couples have children. Also, newly wedded couple do tend to focus on each other to the exclusion of friends for the first year or do,” a different user commented.

Meanwhile, some didn’t agree with the question. According to Magdalen Ross, there was no real evidence that Cambridges are distancing themselves from the Sussexes. Another online user said that there was “zero evidence” that they dislike each other.
