Kate Beckinsale, 21-Year-Old Boyfriend Matt Rife Pack On PDA Again: ‘Totally Smitten,’ Source Says

Kate Beckinsale and Matt Rife can’t seem to get their hands off each other.

On Sunday, Beckinsale, 43, and Rife, 21, were spotted together at the Sherman Oaks Galleria in Sherman Oaks, California. The couple did not shy away from showing off their affection for each other as they packed on the PDA. They even took selfies before leaving the place to catch a movie.

A source who saw the couple claimed that the two looked very happy and head over heels for each other. “Kate was really happy. She looked completely smitten with Matt,” an eyewitness told Entertainment Tonight. “Kate was always touching him the entire time they were waiting for the car at the valet. They were also holding each other as they rode on the escalator. Kate was kissing him. They were super affectionate.”

In addition, a source close to the couple shared that Beckinsale and Rife were happy that the news about them dating was out because they don’t need to sneak around anymore. “Kate and Matt are having fun. The age difference isn’t really an issue,” said the insider. “Matt is very mature for his age and wise beyond his years ... [he] has dated girls in the past but this seems the most serious.”

Beckinsale and Rife were first caught kissing on camera last week in West Hollywood. After the photos surfaced online, a source confirmed that the “Love & Friendship” star and the young comedian were officially a couple.

Beckinsale’s family and friends reportedly already approve of their romance. “Everyone in Kate’s circle loves Matt and are so supportive of this relationship. He really is the sweetest guy and makes her so happy! Her entire family thinks he is the nicest and most lovely person,” the source said. “He is very mature for his age and is a great guy.”

Beckinsale was previously married to Len Wiseman, 44. The film director-producer filed for divorce in October 2016, citing irreconcilable differences. They separated in November 2015, around the same time Wiseman was spotted with model CJ Franco, 26. Neither of them demanded financial support, indicating that they may have a prenuptial agreement, Daily Mail reported.

Beckinsale and Wiseman first met on the set of “Underworld,” which she starred in and he directed in 2003. At the time of their meeting, the “Pearl Harbor” star was with Michael Sheen, while Wiseman was married to a kindergarten teacher named Dana. Beckinsale and Wiseman have no children, but she shares a daughter, Lily, 17, with Sheen.
