Sarah Ferguson Wore Engagement Ring Years After Divorce For This Reason
Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew divorced in 1986, but the Duchess of York continued to wear her engagement ring from her ex-husband years later.
The mom of two was last seen wearing the stunning piece of jewelry on Sept. 6, 2000, which was four years after her legal divorce from Prince Andrew and eight years after announcing their separation to the world.
Prior to this, Ferguson was photographed with her engagement ring a couple of times. She wore it when she brought her eldest daughter Princess Beatrice to school many years ago. Princess Beatrice studied at St. George’s Ascot. In the snap, Prince Andrew and Ferguson can be seen grinning from ear to ear.
In another photo, Ferguson is seen wrapping her arms around Princess Beatrice while the engagement ring is on her finger. And when it was Princess Eugenie’s turn to go to school, Ferguson still wore the ring when she brought her to school.
As of late, Ferguson has not been spotted with the ring and no one knows where it is being kept. It is possible that the ring is still with the mom of two, but her divorce from Prince Andrew has made it improper for her to wear the jewelry in public.
In related news, it was just revealed that Ferguson received a huge financial settlement after her marriage to Prince Andrew ended. A source told the Sunday Telegraph that the financial settlement included property from Queen Elizabeth II, the mom of Prince Andrew.
It has also been revealed that Her Majesty provided her two grandchildren with hefty trust funds for their future. Ferguson was also given cash by Her Majesty.
Following Ferguson and Prince Andrew’s divorce, the couple stayed amicable with each other. They continue to be good friends and are rumored to have been living with each other at the Royal Lodge.
The ex-couple was last seen in public at Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s royal wedding on Oct. 12 at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.
