Will ‘Sister Wives’ Kody Brown Take Fifth Wife? Fans Speculate About Previous Rumored Woman
“Sister Wives” fans saw plenty of drama unfold between the members of the Broan family as they confronted new issues following their move to Flagstaff on the most recent season of their TLC show. However, while the family may be dealing with some very specific issues, fans can’t help but still wonder if something else will ever unfold.
Fans have speculated for years that Kody Brown would likely seek a fifth wife, and Mindy Jessop, one of Robin’s cousins who worked as a babysitter/nanny for her and her kids, was one of the names often thrown into the mix of alleged potential new wives. However, her presence on the show has changed in recent years, which led to fans on a Reddit thread to recently speculate what happened to her—and whether or not Kody might still be courting her.
“So we all know the basics: She is Robyns niece and a live-in babysitter. But what is her story?” a fan wrote. “Based on her looks and clothing, I just don’t see very strict cult-vibe. But also, isnt she a bit old to just be a nanny? Does she have her own life? Has she ever had one? Is she still living with Robyn?”
However, another fan quickly answered, revealing that while the Brown family all moved to Flagstaff in 2018, Mindy stayed behind in Las Vegas, and has since started working at a new business in the city and moved on with her life.
“She only worked for them for 2 years. She has a boyfriend now. She owns a tanning salon in Las Vegas,” the fan wrote.
The questions about Mindy come as fans have wondered about the chance the show could be renewed for another season, after what many saw as a lackluster or boring one. The idea that Kody would take a fifth wife was floated in the past as a way for the family patriarch to guarantee an uptick in ratings.
In addition, as Meri’s early struggles in Flagstaff were revealed this past season, fans also wondered if she was being replaced—and evidence suggested that a fifth wife had been added to the family at some point, a woman named Leah Marie Brown who was 28. Her name appeared on the family’s Wikipedia page for a brief time, but the entry was swiftly deleted.
Kody himself has also addressed the rumors about a fifth wife in the past, saying in 2019 that he was not looking for a fifth wife, and the family wasn’t interested in expanding in that way.
“We’re not even considering it anymore,” he said at the time. “There was an energy, some kind of spiritual thing, inspiration from God if you will, that the family wasn’t complete [when Robyn joined the family]. It’s not a discussion in the family. It’s a door we’ve basically said we’re closing.”
“Sister Wives” has not officially been renewed for a new season.
