'Young And The Restless' Spoilers: Will Rey’s Testimony Get The Newman Women Acquitted?
Christine has managed to get some big wins against the Newman women in court thanks to the previous testimonies that Mariah, Phyllis and Tessa all gave, but a big roadblock could emerge in her case against the women on the Thursday, March 7 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”
After Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) was tricked into revealing that Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Sharon (Sharon Case) had kidnapped her and threatened her over her attempt to blackmail them about JT’s (Thad Luckinbill) murder, the women’s lawyers knew they needed to find something big if they were going to get them all acquitted on the CBS soap. While Michael (Christian LeBlanc) was at a loss, Brittany (Lauren Woodland) revealed she had a plan, which would involve calling Rey (Jordi Villasousa) to the stand.
“Rey is on the spot,” spoilers reveal.
Sharon had revealed to her lawyer earlier that before her confession, Rey had admitted to loving her and had also not read her any Miranda rights during her arrest. Brittany decided to only use the information if needed, and now, knowing she needs something that could solidly disprove the case against Sharon, she is prepared to expose it.
Of course, while bringing Rey to the stand could help bring reasonable doubt in the case against Sharon, which is all that is needed in order to get her acquitted, he could still insist that he didn’t trick her since his feelings had been genuine at the time. Even so, his testimony could prove to be a big hurdle for Christine to try and clear.
Meanwhile, it could also give Michael an avenue to try and help the case against both Victoria and Nikki as well, since he will realize that something more emotional might be needed. Though he initially felt that putting either of them on the stand to testify in their own defense was a bad idea, he may decide now that putting Victoria on the stand so she can talk about the domestic abuse she suffered because of JT is the best way to try and help keep the women out of jail for the rest of their lives.
“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EST on CBS.
