"No kid deserves this under anybody's care. If you were invested in these kids or looked out for these kids, this wouldn't happen," said the victim's aunt.

The victim, who was shot twice, was pronounced dead at the scene by responding law enforcement officers.

Seven police team consisting of 1,000 policemen reviewed over 200 surveillance footages and questioned over 15,000 people to identify the accused.

Marie Snyder has been charged with endangering the welfare of children and obstruction in child abuse cases.

The victim said the fear for her family motivated her to survive the ordeal. 

"I could see the freezer door half open, and food just going whoosh, whoosh, and it was like in an instant, 'Oh my gosh. This is a bear,'" Von Hoffmann-Curzi said.

"Within minutes" of having the girl in the car, the suspect allegedly told the minor to move to the front seat of his Toyota RAV4.

"The senseless death of this innocent child is the ultimate tragedy, and it should serve as a reminder of why we must continue our fight to keep opiates out of our communities," Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods said.

The victim called 911 and gave a detailed description of the two suspects and their getaway vehicle.

Responding officers apprehended the accused after a trick-or-treater's dad chased him around the neighborhood.

The woman has been arrested on charges of second-degree assault and domestic violence.

The couple had adopted six children from China, and had three of their own.

Police began an investigation on April 18 after receiving an anonymous tip about the now-defunct Murray-Overhill Pharmacy, which Martin Brian owned.

Mauricio Johnson pleaded guilty to killing three and will receive a 150-year prison sentence.

The accused admitted to filming himself sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 8 and selling the clip online.

Police helicopter spotted the two toddlers floating in the neighbor's backyard pool.

The woman's boyfriend told the police he had left the house for 10 minutes, and returned to find his girlfriend injured.

"The Hualapai people consider the canyon a place of sacred beauty and healing, and we are devastated by this tragedy," said Ruby Steele, a Hualapai member and CEO of Grand Canyon Resort Corporation.

The heinous crime started in April and continued for six months with no one noticing.

"This is the first shooting I know of on this block in 40 years," Robert Zimmerman, a neighbor said.

According to Palm Bay police, Jason Godleski reported on Oct. 22 the death of his son, Noah Godleski, but did not say how he died.

The victim, a student at a New Haven high school, was a resident of Hamden. Police did not reveal the victim’s name to the public. 

"This man was lifeless, his body was on the ground, he couldn't talk, he couldn't yell for help," a witness said of the victim.

The neighbors held the accused until the cops arrived.

According to the Marion County Prosecutor's Office, the juvenile is eligible to be tried in court as an adult on the murder charge. 

Florida Highway Patrol’s office called Trooper Mathieu a "hero" for his quick thinking. Later, the child was taken to a hospital as a precaution.

The victim was rushed to hospital where he succumbed two days later to the injuries.

Prior to the incident, the victim's father caught the accused touching the girl inappropriately.

The accused said he killed the two women because he felt trapped by them.
